Grade Reports and Holiday Projects
Yesterday I received the finale of my semester–my printed grade report card. First semester is now officially closed; I have turned in all of my grades, and I have received all of my grades. I was very happy to receive a high grade in Twentieth-Century American Literature on my paper, titled “‘By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them’: Defending the Puritans Against Thomas Pynchon.” Pynchon is a far cry from my normal reading, but I determined that because I didn’t like postmodernism that much, I was going to go above and beyond my normal work in order to understand the subject as well as I possibly could. I took a very non-postmodern approach in my paper, but I think it worked.
For the Christmas holidays, my project is to write three articles for an ABC-CLIO encyclopedia called Seas and Waterways of the World. I’m writing two short articles about the St. Lawrence Seaway and the aquarium industry, and a longer article about the Caribbean Sea. I just received notice that my books for researching the topics have arrived from PASCAL, so I can get to work! :)
P.S. Lincoln should be in Massachusetts very soon. He left from Greenville this morning.
