Scenes of Groton

I walked around Groton this afternoon and took photographs. I left too late, so the light was dying by the time I got anywhere. Most of the photos weren’t worth keeping at all. I stayed mostly in the Old Burying Ground and near the old building of the First Baptist Church of Groton. Our church moved out of that building in the 1970s. I may go out again tomorrow afternoon when I’ll have more light.

Scenes of Home

GalleryI’ve posted a gallery of photographs of home over the past few days.

Going Home

LuggageAll my bags are packed, and I’m ready to go. In the morning, I’ll be leaving Greenville to go home to Groton. I haven’t been in Massachusetts since I left after last Christmas, so it will be nice to be home after almost a year. First thing I’ll do when I’m home is give my mother a hug. I’m looking forward to being with my mother, father, and sisters, with my grandparents, and with my church family.

A week after I arrive at home, Abby will be coming to my home to visit.

Speak to Me

Because of my neglect, ΙΣΤΟΡΙΑ has sadly fallen into decline. Perhaps you have enjoyed my silence; perhaps not. But in a week or so, I may have time to write about a few things. Is there anything you would like me to write about, gentle reader? Speak to me.

Family Gathering

I went to a family gathering tonight. John, Kellen, Michael, Audrey, Philip, Dan, Grace, Danny, Jared, Beth, Jeni, and others were all there, but we missed many who had to be away.

And tonight—for the first night in a year—I saw the stars.

Distant Sovereignty

For Dr. Abrams’s class “British Empire and Imperialism,” I analyzed Sudipta Sen, Distant Sovereignty: National Imperialism and the Origins of British India (New York: Routledge, 2002).
