And it took you two weeks to announce it to us! jk (I knew about it quite a while ago and was wondering when you were gonna say something). You finally got your act together! Now I can’t yell at you to find a girlfriend anymore…how sad. Oh well, I will find something to yell at you for(cause I’m so good at it). But anyway, yay for you and Abby.

From one of those who is not quite as perceptive as Morgan: I am quite glad to hear that you found a girlfriend. Congratulations.

Did you know that you are dating a famous lady? I was looking through Rachel’s new science book and right there on the copyright page Miss Abby is listed as a “Contributing Writer”. We’ll spend the school year wondering if what we’re studying that day is something Abby wrote! Very cool.

Mrs. D:
If you’re using the 6th-grade science book, I can tell you what I wrote. :) I wrote the “Animal Classification” chapter, as well as one of the extra lessons about technology (the AUV one), and I revised several others of those extra lessons. But the more important Garland on that copyright page is my mom–she’s the coordinating author for all the new elementary science textbooks! :)

Thanks for the info about your chapter, Abby! Rachel just looked it up and said “Cool!” She and dad had quite a conversation this morning about earthquakes and volcanoes. She’s very happy that the book starts with something “exciting” and not boring plants like she’s used to in a different curriculum. We will definately be thinking of you during the Animal Classification chapter.
(I had noticed your mom’s name at the top of the credits…you are quite a published family.)

If you ever use BJU Press’s high-school Bible curriculum, you may see my father’s name on two of the Bible modular series as well. :)
I’m very glad that science already seems more exciting than it has previously. (Do as many activities as you can–that’s the best part!) :)

Congrats my friends! I too was wondering when the big news was going to be made public. :) Have fun!

I was guessing that some sort of announcement was coming, with all of Lincoln’s recent posts about Abby and her family. :o) Congratulations, Abby and Lincoln!

Just a thought I had…Mo had it too. After more then two weeks of dating all we get is a sentence stating the fact that you are dating Abby. I think Abby deserves more than a sentence. Just a thought.

Just a thought I had . . . Abby had it too. Maybe there are some things about Abby and me that aren’t the business of the whole world. :-)

hahaha….how about…how you met…that would be a nice thing to share! :-p

The trouble is, Morgan, we’re not really sure when we met. But I’ll see what I can do for you. :)

Well thank you Abby :o). And as for you, Lincoln, friends don’t keep secrets and secrets don’t keep friends!!!
Just a thought I had.

I just wanted to let the general public know that I am VERY happy for you both. Oh, and Lincoln, thank you for taking care of my best friend, Abby : )

Lincoln, when you told me you were working at the press, I wondered if you might not notice the wonderful word-lover at that desk. She’s a gem. Don’t forget it.

Lincoln, I think there’s going to be another Garland in the DiTullio home this school year. I was just watching Miss LaPage’s Algebra 1 and 2 orientation on LINC and she introduced her assistant as “Andrew Garland”…is this another brother?
Posted 22 Aug. 2006 at 2:51 pm | Permalink
Yes ma’am, that is my older brother. He is a grad student working on a degree in Math Education.
You probably won’t meet my other family members, namely my sister-in-law Melanie, my younger brother Anthony, or my younger sister Auria (although I think she might be in some of the photos in Science 6).
I am terribly sorry that your house has been so invaded by Garlands.
Posted 22 Aug. 2006 at 6:00 pm | Permalink
Aha! Now I have the scoop. We don’t mind the invasion at all…just want to keep everyone straight.
Mr. Garland, Mrs. Garland, Andrew, and Abby. Perhaps Auria (we’ll scour the book for someone who looks like you!), but no Anthony yet.
Better tell that boy to get going, he’s behind the curve. : )
(We’ll give Melanie credit-by-marriage, don’t you think?)
Thanks Abby!
