A Midsummer’s Afternoon
After lunch I started walking to the library. Since I had the afternoon free, I made an hour’s detour to take photos. I got a few photos of bees, though I didn’t make any friends by doing so. I also tried my hand at photographing flowers, buildings, and construction. It was a chance both to get photos and to practice taking photos. You can see the photos in the gallery.
While you’re looking at the photos from this afternoon, you can also look at the roses.
I checked out a few “teach yourself” books about digital photography. Hopefully they have improved these photos. If any more experienced photographers have any words of wisdom for me , I would be grateful for any help.

If you want some helpful advice from a experienced photographer you could ask Ben. Those are some pretty sweet pics…the construction ones not so much…cause they weren’t pretty. lol.

I especially like the pictures of the roses, Lincoln.
Being a romantic at heart, I’m wondering if there might be a story behind them? You don’t have to answer…I’m content to wonder.

There’s now a description of each of the albums to the left of the thumbnails. But here’s the story, so you don’t have to go check it for yourself:

Hey,
This is Joshua Threlfall in South Korea. Sweet pictures. I’m very impressed with the picture of the bumble bee. Were you using your 10x zoom?
You can take a look some pictures I’ve taken of the Korea mission team that I have on my site (picasaweb.google.com/jpthrelfall). Feel free to leave some comments.

Thanks, Joshua, for the posting the gallery with pictures of my sister and her team. I’ve given your link a more prominent place so that more people will find it.
No, I wasn’t using the 10x zoom. I was using the macro mode, which is slightly different than just zooming in there. It’s meant for up close photos and lets you focus as close as 4 cm. If you’re really curious, you can look at the EXIF data for each of the photos in the gallery.
