Looking Forward
Here is a list of posts that you can expect before the end of the summer. (I’m writing this list of future posts because I want to write these posts, and now I’m obligated to write them.)
- A discussion about universal history, especially trying to understand the relationships between theology and historiography.
- A revision of the paper “The Interrelationship of Reason, Faith, and Revelation in St. Thomas Aquinas.” (I’m more interested in the interrelationship of reason, faith, and revelation than I am in Aquinas. Aquinas is just a beginning point for examining those relationships.)
- Completed doctrines notes for hamartiology and soteriology. (Actually this will be posted on First Baptist Churchnotes.) The notes won’t be complete, but they should cover at least some of what we discussed in the class.
- A review or summary of George Marsden’s Religion and American Culture.
- A review or summary of Earle E. Cairns’s Christianity through the Centuries.
- A brief summary of the more interesting parts of my reading of the apostolic fathers.
We had a beneficial time of fellowship together tonight as we studied the meaning of Christ’s atonement and our election in Christ. Being the teacher means only that I’m the only one who doesn’t sit down. I benefit much from the teaching everyone else there as we fellowship around the Word. I’m going over to the church now to get my New Testament, so that I can read the passage with which we closed:
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord?
Or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. (Rom. 11:33-36)

Just to let you know….even though this has nothing to do with your post…I dislike the fact that I have to put my email address up here. LOL. Just thought I would let you know.

I’m sorry to hear that. However, requiring an e-mail address to comment is essential in case there would ever be spammers or anonymous commenters. So thank you for commenting even though it is inconvenient for you.
I you put something new on your blog, I’ll comment there.
